Prepare for a Systemwide Blood Bank Downtime and Omnicell Downtime

Blood Bank downtime on Sunday
On Sunday, August 25, from midnight to 6 am CST, there will be downtime to upgrade the Soft Blood Bank software. The system is used by blood banks across the health system to dispense blood products.
Follow downtime procedures to obtain blood products during this time, and limit ordering to emergency requests only. You will not experience any workflow changes as a result of the upgrade.

Omnicell downtime on Tuesday and Wednesday
On Tuesday, August 27, from midnight to 4 am CST, there will be downtime to upgrade the Omnicell servers at the following locations:
Central DuPage Hospital
Delnor Hospital
Huntley Hospital
Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital
McHenry Hospital
Woodstock Hospital
Bloomingdale Spine Center
On Wednesday, August 28, from midnight to 4 am CST, there will be downtime to upgrade the Omnicell servers at the following locations:
Kishwaukee Hospital
Lake Forest Hospital
Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Palos Hospital
Valley West Hospital
The Omnicell cabinets will be placed on critical override during downtime. Any orders placed before the downtime will be available on the cabinet. New patients and any new, modified or discontinued orders will not cross over to Omnicell until the upgrade is complete. Staff should add temporary patients as necessary.
