CMS Now Requires Notices for Patients’ ADT Events

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services updated its Interoperability and Patient Access Final Rule to notify established providers of their patients’ admission, discharges or transfers (ADT). You will see more messages in the folders for Outside Events and Outside Messages if you are listed as a member of a patient’s care team at a non-NM hospital, as shown below.
 
The following ADT events for NM patients will file to your Hospital ADT In Basket folder:

• Labor and Delivery admission, discharge and delivery
• ED arrival and discharge
• Immediate Care Center discharge
• Hospital admission and discharge
• Observation, surgical or IR procedure discharge
