September 23, 2021 | 1 min. to read
Employees and contractors who work in all NM hospitals except the South Region are required to take a new evacuation training by December 3. The training is based on a yearlong effort to create an evacuation and shelter-in-place policy for the system, as well as procedures specific to each hospital. The procedures outline how to evacuate the hospital or shelter in place. They also describe:
Who has authority to order evacuation
Decision-making responsibilities
Notifications
Communications
Training and exercises
To access the training on NMI: 1. At the home page, click on the App launcher (nine dots) on the top-left side of your screen. Under Apps, click All Apps and select Learning & Performance after it appears in your search.
2. Click on Learner Home to see the course.
3. Under the Assigned/In Progress section, there will be a course titled Facility Relocation, Evacuation and Shelter in Place Training. The training takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Employees have until December 3 to complete the training. If you have questions about the training, the new evacuation policy or your hospital evacuation procedure, please contact your local Emergency Management lead or Amy Russer, director of Emergency Management & Business Continuity at Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, at [email protected].
