New Smoke-Free Environment Policy Launches Systemwide
January 27, 2021 | 1 min. to read
To help promote the safety and health of all those who provide and receive care at Northwestern Medicine, and who visit NM campuses, NM now has a smoke-free environment. Multiple teams across the health system worked together to strengthen and integrate previous protocols into one systemwide Smoke-Free Environment Policy.
The policy includes smoke-free guidelines for physicians, employees, patients and visitors on all NM campuses, including in parking lots and adjoining sidewalks. Smoking of tobacco products is permitted only in designated areas of behavioral health unit grounds. Read the full policy.
No Smoking signage will be updated across NM in FY21. Find additional updated health system and hospital policies To stay up-to-date on all policies, visit the Document Updates page on NM Interactive (login required), which displays documents posted to Policy Manager in the past 30 days. The page includes tabs for local policies, as well as updates that impact the entire workforce.
