George T. Chiampas, DO, was recognized for his service to Chicago at the 60th Annual Chicago Police Recognition Ceremony. Dr. Chiampos is medical director of Community and Sports Event Preparedness Management at NM and executive director of the Disaster Management and Community Emergency Preparedness initiative at NM. He received the Richard J. Daley Police Medal of Honor on November 4.
The award is presented by the superintendent of police in memory of Mayor Richard J. Daley’s service and dedication to Chicago citizens. It recognizes an individual or business who has made significant service contributions to Chicago or the Chicago Police Department.
“I am honored to be the recipient of this award and to represent our department and NM,” says Dr. Chiampas.
“This award recognizes the important contributions Dr. Chiampas has made in support of the police and community, including his recent work to improve community preparedness for disaster management and emergency response,” says James Adams, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer at Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.
