New Mobile App Enables Physicians to View PACS Imaging Studies, Anytime, Anywhere

The transition to an enterprise picture and archiving system (PACS) earlier this year provided significant improvements in diagnostic interpretation and access to imaging results across Northwestern Medicine. As part of the latest enhancements, the Visage Ease mobile app offers authentication with touch ID and convenient access to all of a patient’s imaging studies. Available only for iPhones and iPads, Visage Ease can be downloaded from the App Store beginning November 22.
“Visage Ease gives NM physicians the ability to view patient images performed at NM on their own iOS device from anywhere in the world,” says Alexander W. Korutz, MD, vice chair of Imaging Informatics. “This software solution will transform the way our clinicians provide care for patients.”
Here are the top five ways Visage Ease improves image viewing efficiency.
You can:
Access patient images performed at any NM location from an iPhone or iPad.
Log into Visage Ease using either facial or fingerprint recognition.
View the entire patient jacket and load comparison studies in seconds.
Access basic PACS tools, such as window/level, pan/zoom, and momentum scroll.
Generate 3-D reformats with the touch of a button.
Visage Ease currently is not available for Android devices. The PACS and Visage Ease will be available in the South Region in Fiscal Year 2023.
