LFH Welcomes Renowned Vascular Surgeon John F. Golan, MD

Renowned Vascular Surgeon John F. Golan, MD, joined NMG and Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Medicine at Lake Forest Hospital in July. He is also a health system clinician with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Golan has more than 30 years of vascular surgery experience, and he was the first vascular surgeon in the Chicago area to learn endovenous laser therapy (EVLT). He has since performed more than 5,000 laser vein procedures. Dr. Golan is a sought-after consultant on varicose vein conditions and has trained over 600 physicians throughout the country on vein procedures. Dr. Golan’s practice focus areas include dialysis access, laser vein therapy, microphlebectomy, peripheral artery disease, spider vein treatment, varicose veins.
“Dr. Golan’s expertise in venous care will greatly expand the services offered by the Northwestern Vein Center in the North Region,” says Mark K. Eskandari, MD, chief and program director, Division of Vascular Surgery at Northwestern Medicine. “We’re excited to welcome John to our comprehensive Vascular Surgery team at Lake Forest Hospital.”
Dr. Golan received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center. Prior to joining NM, Dr. Golan was with NorthShore University Health System, where he has served as director of Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory and as chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Evanston Hospital.
